Hola Familia!!!!

So I'm running out of subject line ideas..... 

But this last week has been great!!! A funny experience! this last week we went to go visit a family and the husband is an old investigator of a long distance cousin of mine and as well his wife was this cousins pension. But the funny experience was when we were finishing the lesson, i felt something under my chair moving. ( i thought it was a spider or something) So I looked under my chair and there was a puppy. Now this family has another dog that they named christian Olsen, Olsen for my cuz. And when I saw this puppy I was like that is not Cristian Olsen. So I picked her up and we got talking with the family about the new puppy. and I was like well I guess now you have some cousins in your house, making a joke! Then them taking it seriously saying " hey that's actually a good idea and she doesn't have a name yet. Lets name her Cassie McNamara!!!!" so now here in Peru there are 2 dog cousins named after 2 distant cousin missionaries!!!! It still makes me laugh! 

But as well this last week we had something called Censo. Its when nobody can leave their house for nothing, because the government has someone coming to count how many people live in your house, because the government wants to know how many people are here in Peru, and it happened to fall on a Sunday so that meant that there could not be church meetings nothing.... it was a really boring day! I mean we studied and we planned and we slept a little. But it was a long time to trapped inside our room. glad to know the Censo only happens every 8 - 10 years. 

Anyways the work is still going and we have got a lot of people were are teaching!!! We are also walking a ton. it still boggles my mind sometimes, but our investigators that grow more and actually get baptized live the farthest away from the church, some 45 minutes walking time!!! Its crazy!!! Sometimes we don't think about the blessings that we have and we take advantage of them. so many of the members ask me. " why if the members of the church in Utah live so close to the temple, why don't they go to the temple more??? why only once every 3 months when they could easily go to the temple every week???" Then they always give me the lecture. Hermana McNamara when you are back in Utah you need to go to the temple every week, and remember everyone here in Peru Cajamarca who has to wait  3 months and save lots of money just to go to the temple.  so I am inviting all. GO TO THE TEMPLE and think about all the people who aren't so privileged  to have temple close!!!!

Spirit and More Spirit!!!! - 10/09/2017

Hola familia!!!!!

OK funny experience for the week is that an old man came up to me and asked me to marry him, he even offered to pay me!!!! it was funny and i told him i cant get married and he said but its never to late for anything!!!! jajjaajajajaja made me laugh!!!!

Now this last week i had a pretty amazing experience. Not only to help the testimony of Hermana McNamara but also the testimony of Cassie McNamara. A couple weeks ago i was a little sad and my mom was like Hermana McNamara i think you've forgotten about Cassie.... It was a pretty weird perspective but i decided that i was gonna give it a try. I asked myself ever since then how is the testimony of Cassie. Hermana McNamara is strong but what about Cassie. So with the conference and all of my studies I've just been thinking about that. And well my really amazing experience happened Saturday we went to visit one of our investigators who seems to have a heart of stone. Him and his family have become some people very special for me! Because it seems that whenever we visit them my testimony goes up 10 knotches! But this last Saturday was even more special because we decided this Man named Samuel needed a stronger testimony of the restoration and of Joseph Smith so we decided to show him the video that's called Joseph Smith prophet of the restoration. I was a little hesitant because its a little long the video but i felt he needed to see it. So we watched it and then after we shared our testimonies and i cried because I know Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. But then after we finished the lesson His wife, who is member. She said I want to share my testimony. And she shared one of the most beautiful testimonies i have ever heard in my life. I cried even more. But then after she finished, i felt strongly to do something that i never would have done as a missionary..... I almost didn't do it because I didn't see in the moment how it would help Samuel, but i followed the spirit. I took off my name tag.... and I looked Samuel right in the eyes. My name tag was face down on the table. And i said " Hermano Samuel. Soy Cassie McNamara. I'm from the united states and I KNOW that these things are true. I know and i want you to know. I'm not a missionary for this moment I'm just another person who has come to love you as my brother and I want you to know that i know that God lives and the He loves you so much!!! I KNOW that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and that because he had such bravery we today can have the blessing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Hermano Samuel, when I come to these visits I don't only come as Hermana McNamara I come as Cassie too and I promise you with all my heart that we keep coming because God knows that you know that these things are true too! " ...... when I said that the spirit was so strong and I was crying yet again! And not only because I knew Samuel was feeling the spirit but also because I recognized that the testimony of Cassie is super strong too!!!! But don't worry as soon as the spirit went down a little the first thing I did was put my name tag back on. IT really was a super powerful experience and I probably will never repeat it,but I could see it touched Hermano Samuels heart and he too finished crying!!! IT was so amazing!!!

God really does help us in the best ways!!!
