9 MONTHS!!!!! - 02/27/2017

HOLA Familia!!!!!!!
Ya OK so this last week was a little bit more exciting than the last week! First off i got to sit in a Peruvian emergency room for one night and that was super fun!!!! Now it was me that was sick so that is why it was fun! I was there because my compy. has got a nice stomach infection. poop but ya know she is doing great now and plus we got to have a fun experience in the hospital. Now emergency rooms here are literally the smallest things i have ever seen. the sound of the person vomiting in the curtain next to us and the little girl screaming will definitely be engraved in my mind for the rest of my life! But it was still super cool to see the difference of medical care here and medical care in the United States.

Also I've hit my half way mark here in the mission and for all the missionaries your half way mark is like a huge deal because your last 9 months apparently goes by really fast!!!! how weird!!!!

As well we got 2 surprise investigators yesterday in church ( my favorite type of investigator) one was from our area and the other is from Germany.... wait what?!?! why is there someone from Germany investigating the Church here in Peru??? well he is here on vacation for 6 months and he was curious. It was super cool and he speaks good Spanish. But for those of you that know me yes i studied German for 2 years before my mission and in the moment when he talked to me in German i realized one thing..... i do not remember a thing of German, it was quite sad but it was also really funny because i went to go say something and it came out in Spanish....... oh well its cool i got a cool language to speak here in Peru!!!

Anyways love you all so much!!!! Thanks for all your support!!!

Another week bites the dust. 02/20/2017

Hola familia!

OK so this last week has been pretty boring. Not much new to tell you all about. We have an investigator named Erick that we are teaching and he committed to baptism and he even asked when he could get baptized wahooo!!!
I'm learning the area and there is a lot of area to learn but it is going good!! Imagine downtown Salt Lake City and that's about what its like walking through my area.
My foot is doing a lot better and its nice to be out walking and not sitting in my bed doing nothing jaja
Here's a scripture for ya

Romans 12: 3

  • New Testament
3For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly , according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Im just gonna invite yall to ponder on this scripture and remember we can't do anything without God!!!!!
Love you all tons!!!! Thanks for all the support!!!

Here is a picture of Cassie's new abode!  I used her mission plaque scripture and created a background for my computer.

I'm sorry!!!! - 02/13/2017

Hola Familia!!!!
Sorry I didn't get an email out last week it was a little hectic. I'm not sure what my mom has posted on face book but yes I did get a staph infection in my foot and yes in total I spent about a week on bed rest. But now I'm all good!!!!

So I got transferred and I'm in the Area Los Cedros!!! in central Trujillo!!! Its totally cool its like walking in downtown Salt Lake City!!!! Now don't have a heart attack because this area is way less dangerous than my first area. Its a lot of fun and I honestly am so excited my area is about 4x the size of my old area. Its huge! but it is gonna be cool! My ward is so cool and I almost cried when I met the bishop because he was so willing to help the missionaries. jaja  Me and my comp are gonna accompish a lot here!

My new comp is Hermana Gonzales she is from Peru, actually she lives about 3 hours away from the mission. She was originally called to the Argentina Santa Fe mission but then after 7 months in the mission she was sent home for an injury to her knee. She then spent 10 months at home and then re entered the mission here in Trujillo. Now she walks super fast so her knee healed up pretty good. Its gonna be super fun and I'm excited to help her remember the mission! It will be fun!!!!

Thanks for all the support! I don't really have to much to tell ya´ll because I was in bed for a week but I'll update ya more next week!!!

Love you all!!!!!

Update 02-06-2017 No Group Email this week.

Cassie didn't send a group email this week. So I thought I would give everyone an update.

She is being transferred this week. She will be a Senior Companion finishing the training of a new companion. She's sad to leave her area, but excited for something new.

She also had a severe staph infection in her foot and leg from the blisters on her feet this week. She spent 3 days on bed rest with it elevated. They thought it was another bug bite at first, so it got really bad before the American Doctor saw it and recognized what it was. The swelling had moved up to her knee. They have her on strong antibiotics and cream. Soaking it and keeping it clean. The members of her ward have been taking amazing care of her. Looks like it's doing much better as of yesterday.

I decided to post the pictures of her foot here for those who wish to see.  (So don't scroll down past the happy pictures if you don't want to see!)   The treatment the members brought for her to try also looks really interesting.  I decided this is part of her mission, so should be documented here.   We are also so thankful for the wonderful care the ward members have offered Cassie, and for entertaining her while on bed rest.  She has expressed such gratitude for the ward members. She will miss them so much!

Prayers welcome and appreciated!! She had a great attitude and won't be letting an infection slow her down.

Love To All!!
Kim
